John: Here's the formal way to ask "Who is it?" in Filipino.
Camille: [Normal] Sino po sila?
John: First is a word meaning "who."
Camille: [Normal] sino [Slow] sino
John: Next is a word indicating politeness.
Camille: [Normal] po [Slow] po
John: Last is the word meaning "you."
Camille: [Normal] sila [Slow] sila
John: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the formal question meaning "Who is it?"

John: Here's the informal way to ask, "Who is that?"

John: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Camille: In the Philippines, when knocking on someone's door, people usually say: Tao po? It's like asking "Anyone home?" In case you hear this and don't recognize who's asking it, then you should reply: Sino po sila? This is the polite way of asking who someone is, which is a must when talking to strangers.
